I’m Mark. I build software for schools — carefully, one tool at a time.

Based in the UK. Mostly for education. Sometimes a little wider.

Software, carefully made.

Work

Things I’ve made. Some are live, some aren’t quite ready, some I built for myself and ended up sharing with a small team.

Visual TT timetable running on an iPad in a classroom

Visual TT

Live

A classroom timetable that moves forward on its own, and that you can share with a QR code so learners see it on their own device. I built it after a teacher asked for something she could customise for an individual learner managing the day. Live now, with more coming soon.

StoryBuilder

Beta · TestFlight

A tool for young learners to build sentences and stories using words and pictures — and their own voice, if writing with a pen gets in the way. Teachers decide what each learner sees, and when. Built with Scotland’s Curriculum for Excellence literacy support in mind.

SFL Tracker cohort view with filters and learner rows

SFL Tracker

On request

A local HTML tracker for Support for Learning staff — made after an Excel version kept breaking in the real world. Learner profiles print and export cleanly, the cohort view has filters for quick data analysis, and nothing’s locked behind a server you don’t control.

iPad Dashboard summarising a school's device inventory

iPad Dashboard

On request

If you’re managing iPads in a school and JAMF isn’t giving you the clarity you need, this turns a JAMF export into something you can actually act on — what’s deployed, what’s missing, and what needs attention before it becomes a problem.

LC Tracker dashboard showing visits, mileage and parking

LC Tracker

Live, for me and my team

I’m not great at claiming travel expenses, so I built a tracker to stop losing money. It auto-logs mileage and parking, and helps me review the day and plan the next one. My team now use their own version of it.

About

I work in education in the UK and I build software in my evenings and weekends — mostly to solve problems I’ve run into during the day job. Everything here started with a real conversation: a teacher asking for something, a colleague needing a tool that didn’t exist, or me quietly losing petrol receipts down the side of my car seat.

I care about software that works on a school’s actual network, on the actual device a teacher has, in the actual five minutes they have between classes. If something I’ve built could help you, please get in touch.
